Funeral services for my father, Bartemius Hallam Crouch, Sr., will be held at one in the afternoon on Wednesday, 21st January, 1980, in St Michael's Church, Windhill, Bishop's Strotford. The internment will follow immediately after, at Trent Park Cemetery, Cockfosters Road, Barnet, Hertfordshire. Both the ceremony and the wake will be public, in honour of his services to the community of Wizarding Britain.
A closed-casket visitation will be Sunday, 18th January, 1980, at St Michael's, between noon and five in the afternoon.
On behalf of my mother, grandfather, and unborn sibling, I must ask that everyone please respect our family's privacy and ability to mourn. My father was a truly great man and our family has suffered a dire loss with his death.

[warded AGAINST Father, Mother, & Sirius "Black."] This is easily the most useless holiday ever conceived.
[added after this conversation; warded to Julianne.] You.
[added later still; warded to Severus, Demetrius, & Aquila] Demetrius has proposed Christmas debauchery, by which I mean, "drinking and wishing that 1980 will be better than 1979." List days that work and don't work for you.
I can't on the 21st, Christmas, or Boxing Day, but every other day is available.

[warded to Julianne] I am going to be marvelously insensitive for a moment, and for that I apologise, but, that said: this disappearing act of yours is most unbecoming and entirely not what Regulus would have wanted. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you will stop it now and come home. Regulus's funeral is on Wednesday morning at eleven and it is your duty, as his bereaved fiancee, as one of Regulus's favourite people, and as a near member of the House of Black, to make an appearance.
It was my day off today, and do you know how I spent it? I was out looking for you, Julianne Luna Wilkes, and believe me, if I need to come find you and bring you home myself, neither of us will enjoy it. Go home, rest, comfort your sister -- I know that she is abrasive and can be quite difficult at times, but she is worried sick, and, given as this is exactly what preceded Regulus's death, I do not blame her -- and prepare to do what became expected of you when you put on your engagement ring. [/Julianne]
Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince: And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!Requiescat in pace, Regulus Arcturus Black.
We who survive will miss you greatly.

[warded private] I haven't the slightest clue what this is meant to be, or why it is honestly the time for parties. Really, it's mind-boggling. (Almost a full) month is, admittedly, long enough that, perhaps, the tide will have turned more decisively in our favour and there will be time for such frivolities, but, until such time as that has happened, conclusively, I hardly see the point. Hopefully, Severus, Demetrius, and Aquila will not be set in a decision to go; I would much rather avoid it, and what better way to do so than with friends?

[warded to Severus & Antonin] Regulus's mother sent me an owl this morning. Apparently, he did not return home last night.
I took the day from the hospital and am going to find him; I have my journal and will be reachable, and it is my aim to, whatever the outcome, return to the Old Parsonage by 10 or 11. Hopefully, I will find him and will not need to be out for too long.
[warded to Juls] Telling you not to worry is pointless, but do not worry excessively. I will find him and he will be fine.
[warded to James] I apologise if I have been short with you today, but, so far, things have not been going well today. Regulus's mother sent me an owl this morning, and apparently he did not return home last night. She is frantic, his fiancee is frantic, and the only reason I am not frantic is that I know that I need my wits about me in order to locate him. I severely doubt that he would go to you or to Sirius, but if you do know something about this, please tell me.

[warded to Persephone; charmed to buzz and make noise until responded to] Love, this is an emergency. I am with a patient and literally cannot leave, as doing so risks his death. Owing to Healer-patient confidentiality, I am not at liberty to discuss the specifics, but I need you to go to Hertfordshire. If Prior is available to accompany you, please insist that he does.

[warded to Death Eaters & Dark Army] Explanations for why my ill, pregnant mother was sent a severed hand -- I would very much appreciate them.

[warded to Antonin] I'm afraid that a rather serious, sensitive assignment has come up for me; because of Healer-patient confidentiality, I am not able to discuss the details, but I will need to be out of the house for several days. What should I arrange for Anzhelina? [/Antonin]
[warded to Severus & Regulus] I'm afraid, gentlemen, that I cannot be present for dueling practise this Wednesday. Owing to Healer-patient confidentiality, I am not at liberty to discuss why, but it is exceptionally important and, unless there is a sudden reversal of fate (for better or for worse), then it will need my attention, most likely, for the better part of the week. My apologies if my absence will interrupt anything delicate, and I will return as soon as this situation has been handled properly. [/Sev & Reg]
[warded to Marius] His condition is still critical, for the time being, but improving. There was damage done to his arms and legs, which was rather easily fixed, but injuries were also inflicted on his lungs; the punctures do not appear to be as bad as they could be and they should be quite reparable, but it will take some time and he will likely need at least two weeks' recovery, and quite possibly three. Mademoiselle Chevalier is currently securing a set of potions that should help make the healing more thorough and I stand by what I said last evening: I will not let him die. [/Marius]

[Warded to Father] Father. [/Father.]
I feel as though, given where I now work, that this should be the first autumn that I do not enjoy. After all, the shift in weather patterns and the move towards winter makes people fall ill, and then they often need or else simply desire a Healer's attention -- but I cannot help but get an almost childish sense of enjoyment out of this season, especially now that it's begun winding down into winter.
[warded to DEs & Supporters under the age of 25, and Marius] Incidentally, I have come to the conclusion that a game of Quidditch might be in order, while there is still have available time and daylight, and before it gets to be too intolerably cold. Would anyone else be interested in such a venture?

[warded to Aquila]I have been informed that we are to compare schedules and find a time in which we can construct this explosive for Mr Lestrange. Given the delicate nature of the assignment, I think it that would also be beneficial to meet beforehand, so that we may do the research and assorted background reading together; tomorrow night would be the best time for this and I will ask if Antonin does not mind us using the library here, although I doubt that he will. As for the device's construction, I've arranged to have my Tuesday night graveyard shift and my Wednesday shifts covered; if you are amenable to it, we can meet and spend Wednesday before duelling practise at work on our task.
Your thoughts?
[warded to Antonin]Mr Lestrange has assigned a task to Aquila and myself. As a decent amount of background reading will likely be required, would it be alright if he and I were to use the library to research and discuss this tomorrow night?

[ooc: Barty's handwriting is a bit messier than normal, but not overtly so at first glance; Barty's a bit intoxicated, but not enough to impair his wards.]
[warded to Regulus and Severus] Home safe, and saw Antonin to check in as well. Taking supper in my room, as don't feel much up to taking it elsewhere. Think I almost wandered into Anzhelina's part of the house on my way to my room. I didn't actually, though, or Antonin would be upset. Nothing happened of interest at Aloysius's, really. Pepper was there, but not terribly bothersome.
Don't worry, Regulus; properly cleaned off any lingering things that might lead to infection of the abominatory abominator abominat abomination sort of sense. Am most very certainly not in danger. I promise. [/Reg & Sev]
[warded to Regulus, Severus, Demetrius, & Aquila] Can you lot believe that Pepper found a woman willing enough to demean herself enough to let him court her? Or whatever people of that sort do instead of courting? I somehow don't think it involves much courting. At least not in the proper, traditional sort of sense.
Anzhelina is very pretty. [/Quintet]
[warded against Father] Cats are lovely, curious creatures. Almost nosy, a bit, if you think about it, really. Like, right now -- Achilles is rather nosing about in my room. I swear, he must have gotten into everything in here once before and, as he cannot read, I don't much see the point in trying to find anything in my books. It's a pity he cannot read, really. He's very curious; I'm sure that he would enjoy my books as much as I do.
Or perhaps he would just get bored. Given the frequency with which he moves from one thing to another, that seems equally likely.

[warded to Aquila, Demetrius, Regulus, and Severus] Who has what obligations on Friday night?
[added later] As Antonin has just given permission for this: we are having drinks. We will be having them tomorrow evening, in one of the third-floor sitting rooms in the Old Parsonage. Antonin is coming home tomorrow night and will spend most of the night in his study, but nevertheless, we must take care not to disturb him in the slightest, as he needs peace during his recovery.
